The Trenton Select Committee was founded by a small group of public-spirited people led by Gilbert P. Rossi. A well-known and much-loved member of the Trenton
athletic community, Mr. Rossi was a dynamic and energetic participant in Trenton area sports for more than 40 years as a player, coach, official and fan.
The Gilbert P. Rossi Memorial Scholarship program was established by the Committee in 1992 to recognize outstanding young men and women, and serves as
an appropriate way for the Committee to remember its founder. We award a $1,000 scholarship to at least two high-school graduates each year at our
November dinner, and over the past 15 years The Trenton Select Committee has presented over $28,000 to young area students.
